Mountain Creek SHS prides itself on our commitment to achieving an international perspective. This enables a diverse, world class curriculum to be offered to our International Students, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma. We also offer the opportunity to study Spanish and Japanese during your stay.

Mountain Creek SHS has accreditation with the prestigious Council of International Schools (CIS) and in 2005 began the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for our motivated students in year 11 and 12. This school was the first school in Queensland to obtain the dual accreditation with CIS and the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organisation). A preparation program is offered to students in year 10 who wish to further excel their academic excellence.

In an increasingly globalised community it is important for young people to develop an enhanced understanding of other cultures and nationalities. Our International Student Program excels our value of International Education and allows the opportunity for our International students to gain experience and understanding of the Australian culture, lifestyle and develop their English Communication skills.

The success of our International Student Program is evident through the number of students that choose to complete their matriculation with us here at Mountain Creek. Students come to us from all over the world including countries such as Germany, Brazil, Japan, China, Thailand, Estonia, Chile, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, France, Colombia and New Caledonia.

A wide variety of subjects to choose from within the curriculum and the opportunity to complete the IB Diploma make Mountain Creek an attractive place to study.

Our innovative Orientation Program will allow you to become immersed in our local community as you attend a formal welcome to the Sunshine Coast followed by a Surf Awareness Course at Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club. The day concludes with your host families and buddies joining us at the beach to experience fish and chips on the beach. It is a great chance to get to know both other International students and some of our local students.

Our Buddy Program run by our International Student Captain will help ensure that you feel welcomed and supported through your first few weeks here at school.
